Vidi Corp transformed Neterra’s financial and business analysis with all data presented in analytical reports that are up-to-date, orderly, meaningful, and accurate.

Power BI from Microsoft simplifies creating insightful business analysis. Bringing together all your different data sources from local and on-premise to the cloud and hybrid data warehouses, all your data is collected in one place, processed, and presented automatically in a form that’s convenient for review, comparison, and analysis.

To fully unleash the power of Power BI, you’ll need to create predefined parameters to run in each report.

A Power BI report shows views of selected data with many perspectives. It also includes visualizations so you can easily see trends, understand details, gather insights, and make informed business decisions.

The beauty of these reports is that they’re directly related to their sources of information, so the data is updated automatically in real time, and processed the same way so the reports are always reliable and up to date.

Neterra’s Power BI reports in partnership with Vidi Corp

Global telecommunications company Neterra has created its Power BI reports with the help of BI data analysis agency Vidi Corp. The source of information for Neterra’s reports is the company’s own ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system. Every transaction that enters the system is automatically reflected in Power BI in real time, eliminating the need for manual intervention.

Neterra has developed several reports with Vidi Corp. They provided Neterra’s expert team and management the opportunity to monitor the company’s performance in terms of revenues, direct costs, and financial results for the entire business and in various areas: by service, by operating segment (results of all services falling under the wing of the operating segment), by individual customers, by account manager, by client segment (activity and size of the client).

In this way, the company can easily and quickly see, for example, the financial results of customers in various economic sectors such as manufacturing, trade, telecommunications, IT and more.

The same data is presented and analyzed on a geographical basis; financial indicators are presented by country, city, and service, and in addition to seeing who buys what, it is also clear where in the world something was sold. Based on information about the location where Neterra provides services, Vidi Corp created maps that could show the address of the specific service plus the corresponding coordinates.

For each operating segment (product lines) Vidi Corp developed a total service overview which included not only the revenue but also all the costs necessary to provide the service allowing stricter control and analysis of the performance of individual operating segments.

How is such a report made?

Reports like the above are not part of the standard Power BI product. To create them, Neterra’s CFO developed definitions of exactly what he wanted to be contained in the report, how it needed to be displayed, what analytical sections it should have, how to calculate the various indicators, etc., and Vidi Corp created and implemented this bespoke solution in the software.

Creating such reports in Excel, for example, is very time consuming, there are months of delays and mistakes. Power BI reports are predefined, accurate, up to date, can be viewed in real time (not quarterly, for example) and you only need to monitor processes, control costs and track whether everything is going according to plan.
